There is something you should know about me.

I am an amazing gift curator.

I spend full workdays finding thoughtful, creative, high-quality gifts for Calipxo. I research what’s trending, compare sellers, check ratings, evaluate prices, and search for products people will be genuinely excited to receive.

Need a gift for a runner? I’m on it.

A gamer? Absolutely.

A toddler, tween, dad, grandma or someone with a hobby so specific it has its own online community?

Give me a minute. I can find something wonderful.

There is just one tiny detail that makes all of this slightly hilarious:

In my personal life, I have successfully selected and sent an on-time gift to maybe one or two people outside my immediate family in the last ten years.

Yes. Years.

I’ll pause while you enjoy the irony.

Professionally Thoughtful. Personally, “Oh No! I Never Actually Ordered It.”

At work, I am focused.

I research current trends, highly rated sellers, competitive prices, quality products, and ideas that feel more interesting than the first generic search result.

Every gift has to pass a few simple tests:

  • Is it from a reputable, highly rated seller?
  • Is the quality strong for the price?
  • Does it feel thoughtful, useful, fun, or unexpected?
  • Would I genuinely feel good sending or receiving it?

If the answer is no, it doesn’t belong in the catalog.

But in my personal life?

I have remembered birthdays, thought warmly about the person, mentally selected at least four possible gifts, and then allowed the occasion to pass without sending any of them.

Sometimes I sent a text.

Sometimes I said, “Your gift is coming!”

Sometimes the gift was, in fact, not coming.

Life simply kept placing other things ahead of gifting until the birthday quietly moved from “coming up” to “last Tuesday.”

Apparently, I Wasn’t Bad at Gifting… I Was Just Busy

Working at Calipxo taught me something unexpected: I was never incapable of choosing thoughtful gifts.

When gifting became my job; when I had dedicated time, a clear process, and space to focus on one recipient at a time… I discovered I was actually very good at it.

I could find the fun gift for the seven year old, the useful (but not boring) gift for Dad, the unique gift for the artist, and the thing a tween would describe as “actually cute,” which remains the highest available form of praise.

The problem was that gifting was competing with work, school schedules, laundry, dinner, appointments, emails, sports practices, grocery shopping, and everything else demanding attention right now.

Gifting always mattered. It just rarely became the priority.

Good intentions do not wrap themselves and arrive on someone’s doorstep.

How Calipxo Hand-Selects Thoughtful Gift Recommendations

When you get a gift recommendation or browse gifts through Calipxo, you’re not looking at an endless collection of random products.

Behind the catalog are real people doing the time-consuming work most of us wish we had time to do.

I scour the internet for trending gifts across categories, from toddlers and tweens to dads, grandmas, runners, artists, and gamers. I compare highly rated sellers, look for good value, consider product quality, and curate gifts I would genuinely feel good about sending or receiving.

I look for the obvious winners, but also the more unusual ideas; the gifts that feel personal, unexpected, or perfectly suited to someone’s interests.

I do all of that work so you don’t have to.

No twelve open tabs. No endless scroll. No wondering whether the product with five suspiciously enthusiastic reviews will look anything like the photo when it arrives.

Just a thoughtful, curated place to begin.

We Can All Be Thoughtful Gift-Givers

I used to think some people were simply “gift people.”

You know the ones. They remember every birthday. Their gifts arrive on time. The wrapping coordinates with the card. They somehow know what you wanted before you knew you wanted it.

Meanwhile, I was sending a birthday text at 9:47 p.m. and considering that a strong finish.

But thoughtful gifting isn’t a special talent.

When the dates are remembered, the research is done, and the process is made simple, we can all be thoughtful gift-givers.

Being thoughtful isn’t about having unlimited time. It’s about having a way to turn “I care about you” into something the other person can actually feel.

I get to spend my workdays finding gifts people will love. Then Calipxo helps someone else discover that gift, choose it, and send it to a person who matters to them.

All the research I never had time to do in my own life becomes the research you no longer have to do in yours.

The Gift of Gifting

There is a wonderful feeling that comes with being the person who remembered.

Not the person who meant to remember. Not the person who left a gift in a cart and rediscovered it three months later.

The person who actually followed through.

That is what I’m excited to offer through Calipxo: the gift of gifting.

I still laugh at the fact that I became a professional gift curator after spending roughly a decade as a wildly inconsistent personal gift-giver.

But perhaps that makes perfect sense.

Calipxo was created for people like me, people who care deeply, mean well, and could use a little help making sure the gift actually gets sent.
